Since its inception in 1998, the Biostatistics Core has been a valuable component of the Providence-Boston CFAR

Over the past 17 years, our Core has developed and nurtured a diverse group of statistical scientists whose expertise engages the needs of modern HIV researchers with a broad array of interests. We are on the leading edge of statistical methods research, and possess extensive knowledge of the underlying scientific and clinical issues relevant to HIV/AIDS

We are equipped to handle the vast array of data types, study designs, and scientific questions required for modern HIV research, including:
analysis of observational data
study of social and sexual networks
modeling of disease dynamics
combining and integrating data from multiple sources
analysis of genomic and molecular-level data (e.g. to understand treatment resistance)
design and analysis of intervention trials and screening studies
